Animation industry has boundless scope for those who love to create magic. The field of animation is sometimes misunderstood with cartooning. Cartooning is drawing caricatures of characters. Animation is the art of breathing life into these characters. Animation is the art with which inanimate objects are brought to life with the help of various modern computer based sequencing techniques. The best way to pursue a career in animation is by getting a graduate degree or dimpoma in animation. For doing a diploma or degree in animation, the eligibility criteria includes a 10+2 from a recognized board with at least 45% marks.
There are no special subjects that are needed to be studied at this level. But aptitude in sketching, drawing and deep interest in computers is always considered. It would be very appropriate to study fine arts at the college level and Bachelor in Fine Arts is an ideal way to give career in animation a big push. If you are not pursuing fine arts but are instead pursuing some other stream, there are still chances to chalk out a career in animation.
